Americans really like big cars. Unusually big cars. Only in American can you find cars such as the Hummer, or even more excessive, this behemoth called the 2007 Freightliner Sportchassis which honestly looks like a motorized monster...
Anyways, the love of big fat autos dates back a while. Before the oil crisis in the 70s, Americans were in love with big sedans. Long, long hoods were the norm.
Only after the oil embargo years did they started shifting a little...
But then came back to big huge cars. Well, partly the excuse may be that here we have WIDE open roads.
Big cars are indeed safer...
But gosh, what about gaz guzzling impracticality?
In most of the rest of the planet, people drive little cars. Hey, they move.
So anyway, I am in support of the little underdog. The Mini, Nano, and Scion. The VW Bug too, but that's a bit girlie for me.
