Feeding the Homeless in nola

We people tend to take things for granted.

Chances are, you are reading this in an air-conditioned room. Think though.. isn't that quite lucky?

It is. And we should strive to give back.

Today I was lucky enough to join a "feed the homeless" program sponsored by an inner-city mosque.

5 years after Katrina, thousands of people still lack basic human amenities - food, shelter, proper medicine. From the dark shadows of an interstate ramp to abandoned, demolished buildings, impoverished folk struggle to eke out a living.

If you get a free weekend, consider joining a soup kitchen or bringing a few homemade meals to feed someone. It will make both of you feel good.

The Alcove Blogger

here i am, typing with one hand... alas,

i type slow, but my words may slide through

you like seaweed in water, enveloped in a snap

spaces like these, give a peaceful solace...

do you feel ease now, as the clamor of

shiny obnoxious behemoths sucks

the distracted masses?

but not you, oh brave

On Speed

A wise man said "It is unworthy of excellent men to waste hours like slaves in the labor of calculation."

At times , we forget just how fast PCs are, but recall the original purpose of a calculator

Goodbye 2 Online chat , Good riddance ya loony

Reasons to avoid chatting online::

We have Skype, cells, yahoo msngr, why type to each other when voice is

faster?

Carpal tunnel syndrome results from chatting online. That's a pathetic way to lose dexterity.

It's mostly junk and fluff we chat online about, email

is more direct, while face-to-face communication is

more meaningful.

You can't really trust online chat, i.e. there ALWAYS

is a risk of being spied on or talking to a TOTALLY

DIFFERENT person .

Overall, a waste of time because you WAIT for

responses. If your chat-partner suddenly needs to swat

a mosquito, you sit IDLE... again, email works better!

Some Randomness, return ;

Hi people . The vegetables beckon.

I came across this interesting web site - http://lifehacker.com/ , you should check it out!

Oh, yellow pica-sized frames! The flopping shallow lava!

My mind is liquid, water and yesterday's OJ!

On carpal tunnel syndrome

Getting carpal tunnel syndrome is a gradual thing. But once it happens, it's hard and it makes a huge difference in day-to-day life. Please be careful when you type - wrist position is key. Also, online chat is risky.

Use the computer 's POWER - automate passwords, use Macros, Autohotkey, etc.

Breaks each 30 minutes, stretch, strengthen arms.

On carpal tunnel syndrome, Texter, and basketball

Hi every 1, 2day I contemplate mortality.

Although i do so, I realize I am lucky.

Yes, very lucky, < /> .

I have carpal tunnel syndrome, yet.. I am lucky.

I have poor alignment, but dear car- ily, I love you very much :)

basketball , is my solace of spherical hope. I love basketball :)

And.... lbnl , throws Exception .. I mean, Texter 0.6. Based on autohotkey, a savior of carpal tension and a time aid. I'm sorry but I really gotta go, talk 2 you later, thanks
